Why join the El Camino YMCA Triathlon Club?
We are a great place for seasoned or newbees triathletes to meet other triathletes, find training partners and join in social gatherings. We have multiple weekly workouts to choose from, socials meetings and clinics.
- How do I join or renew?
Stop by at the El Camino YMCA and ask for info on the Triathlon Club.

- I have never participated in a Triathlon. Can I still join?
Absolutely! The YTri supports all levels of triathletes and runners.
- I just joined. How do I get started?
Just show up at one of our workouts, meetings, or clinics. Keep checking back on this web site and the club calendar for various activities and dates.
- Do I have to attend every workout after I join?
No. Attendance at every workout is not mandatory. Go to the workouts that you can benefit from and fit into your schedule.
- I am a beginner and have no clue as to where to start. What do I do?
When you join, not only are you meeting great people, but also will get lots of help in getting started in the sport. Attend our Intrductory Clinic/Meeting to check for details. Whether you need help in swimming, biking, or running, we have something just for you. Don't be shy and show up at the workouts and other club events.
- What kind of bike should I get? What is the best wetsuit to get? Where do I go to buy?
You could always buy gently used merchandise from a fellow athlete. This is the least expensive way to get started in the sport. When you are ready to upgrade, check out our sponsors. Take advantage of your membership benefit and go to one of these experts and talk to them. You can also attend one of our clinics when we review tri gear..
- When do you meet?
We meet on the first Thursday of every month (unless otherwise announced in advance).
